joss whedon is my master now

I am beyond words excited that I stopped by Crusie’s blog this morning because lookee what she found:

Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

It’s the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to.

I am so excited I’ve forgotten what I wanted to say in this blog, so I’ll just go with the tried and true fangirl response: SQUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

eta – I am apparently not a hip youngster because for the life of me I can’t figure out how to imbed the video into this post. Grrr. BUT follow the link – you will not be sorry!

holy frakin’ wednesday, batman!

Ok, it’s Tuesday. But that is less important than the fact that I just cracked 30,000 words on Tucker! Not only that, but I’ve cruised right past that benchmark to land at 32,214.

YEE HAW!!!

This is very heady stuff, especially since I’m targeting a line looking for roughly 55k on the word count. Which line? Not sure yet. I know, I know – shouldn’t I have this decided already? Likely. But the fact remains I haven’t and I’m just STOKED that I’ve passed the Wednesday of my writing week – it’s all downhill to Friday from here, people.

Now, my kitchen is a sty and my hubbin has no dinner. But who cares?? I’m at 30k words and counting…

Boo yah.

ugh3 (cubed)

19 days. I am beyond bad monkey.

In my defense I’ve been busy. At work. Which means not a lot of writing time. Don’t tell my boss…

I’m making progress on Tucker. And on Sydney. More on Tucker right now, since that’s the priority. I’ve cleared a big hurdle and it’s smoother going for the moment. My writing partner and I hashed out the big evil plot to within an inch of its life so all I gotta do now is plug it in.

Riiiight…

Any way, back to work. If you have some time, check out this out. The illos are great and it’s too bad America is too puritanical to run a similar campaign.

ugh

Looks like I’m turning out to be the one post a week wonder. I hate that.

What I hate even more is the snail’s pace I’m crawling to get words on the page. I’m roughly half way through the book and the villain is laying down some law. It’s REALLY tough because I know how much rides on this sequence. I also know this is the DLD draft and I just need to really block this sucker in and move forward.

I have so much respect now for people who have finished novels, published or not. Even those who are published who’s work doesn’t do it for me. They finished and that is an accomplishment of biblical proportions. I’m hoping (fingers crossed) that once I get through this scene, the rest is downhill. Ok that’s unrealistic. Maybe less uphill. I’ll take what I can get.

What also isn’t helping is that the last two days I’ve been running around researching and writing up notes on the next book. Yes the next book. I found a story (on accident, I swear!) for Tucker’s sidekick, Sydney, and it’s running around my head like a sorority house on Homecoming. I’m hoping to purge it a bit, so I can go back to where I need to be – Tucker.

But man, this next one is gonna ROCK!
